Heading Out for a Road Trip Soon?

Here’s a few things you should check to make sure the only problem you’ll have is what music to listen to!

Check the Tires and Spare

Proper air pressure will ensure you get the best gas mileage possible and prevent any tire blow outs. Be sure to check your spare and locate all tools needed to install it on your vehicle.

Use a penny to check tread depth. Place a penny head first into the tread; as long as part of his head is covered, you have more than 2/32nds of tread remaining. If not, it is time to replace your tires!

Oil Change & Scheduled Maintenance

If your vehicle is almost due for an oil change, or will be due while you’re on the road, get one before you go. This gives your shop a chance to catch any potential issues and to top off all the fluids.

Things like Air Filters and Fluid Flushes are a part your vehicles of Scheduled Maintenance. While you’re at the shop, be sure to ask them to check what’s due for your vehicle based on its mileage. Also, a brake inspection should be done so that they can be replaced if they are getting low.

Don’t Forget to bring Supplies

Be sure to pack any chargers and cables for your electronics. You don’t want to get stuck with a dead smart phone battery! Get yourself a First Aid Kit, jump starter, non-perishable snacks, bottled water, a blanket, and a flashlight in case of any emergencies.
